Health and Safety

The health and safety of the children at Toddler's Workshop and Railroad Junction is a matter of utmost importance to everyone in the program.

  • All children are required to be immunized using the American Academy of Pediatric guidelines.
  • A health policy is in place to ensure that only children who are free from contagious illness attend the program.
  • The single most effective method of infection control is frequent and proper handwashing.  Staff are trained in this procedure and also train children in the process.
  • While the program is committed to constant and direct supervison of children, there are times that children will sustain bumps and bruises as a normal part of being a child.  Accident reports are written for even the most minor of incidents.
  • Our Nurse Consultant is an RN and is more than happy to assist parents with their health questions and concerns. In addition, she reviews the program's health plan annually to ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • The staff participate in American Red Cross CPR and First Aid training, always striving for the goal of 100% trained.
  • Toddler's Workshop is a New York State approved Medication Administration program.  Select staff have been trained to administer medications.
